This website was created as a part of an academic project which provides an art historical analysis of the Altneuschul Synagogue located in Prague, Czech Republic. The structure was completed in 1270 and is one of the first examples of the Gothic style in Prague. Today, the structure stands as the oldest functioning synagogue.
Below is a story-map that allows users to click through the different features seen within a drawing that studies the space.
The various pages linked above offer a more in depth descriptions of the elements in the story-map, as well as a historiographic essay about the space in the “narrative” page. For more information about the website or author, please view the “about” page.
